The LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 collection is about to race onto shelves, some faster than others.
Formula 1 is teaming up with the LEGO Group in a partnership that will see more motorsports sets on shelves than ever before. There’s something for every price point, from budget-friendly play sets in LEGO City, like 60464 F1 Williams Racing & Haas F1 Race Cars and 60443 F1 Pit Stop & Pit Crew with Ferrari Car, to exquisitely detailed LEGO Technic sets like 42207 Ferrari SF-24.
Meeting in the middle is LEGO Speed Champions, capturing every key detail of the iconic Formula 1 cars at a more accessible price point than LEGO Technic. With one set for every team on the grid, all the sets will launch on March 1, 2025.
Let’s break down which of the 10 might sell quickest – and which ones you won’t need to worry about.
Speedy sellers
This might seem like motley crew of sell-out cars but, while 77242 Ferrari SF-24 and 77243 Oracle Red Bull Racing RB20 lead the pack in real-life Formula 1 and 77247 KICK Sauber F1 Team C44 and 77250 MoneyGram Haas F1 Team VF-24 are at the back, that might mean both end up selling out quickly.
It’s likely that the LEGO Group will adjust stock to keep the first two ready for the larger groups of fans who champion those two teams and have less for Sauber and Haas. That means they could easily sell out fast and become collectibles – even without a massive fanbase to back them.
With those four sets expected to fly off shelves rapidly, pre-order them today and rely on Brick Deals’ speedy shipping to have them with you as soon as possible after launch on March 1.
No need to panic
In the middle of the pack, we reckon you’ll be able to get your hands on 77244 Mercedes-AMG F1 W15, 77251 McLaren F1 Team MCL38, 77246 Visa Cash App RB VCARB 01 F1, and 77248 BWT Alpine F1 Team A524 pretty easily – although they could still sell out at points.
Mercedes and McLaren undoubtedly have strong fanbases – although it’ll be interesting to see how Lewis Hamilton’s departure from Mercedes will affect that – but not to the same merch-buying degree as Ferrari and Redbull. The other two teams are firmly in the middle of the pack, but have some fun livery colours that might make them tempting to buy.
Dust collectors
Last but not least, we think 77245 Aston Martin Aramco F1 ARMR24 will be overcompensated for in terms of stock, relative to how many people will actually pick them up. Even long-term Aston Martin fans are dissatisfied with the colour match on this livery, so that could also impact sales.
Last but not least, although Sainz going to Williams might boost the team’s appeal in 2025, the Formula 1 team’s own principal has said 2025 isn’t a priority. That will likely keep Williams out of any major headlines and probably keep 77249 Williams Racing FW46 on shelves.
